WORLD HPP DAY

OCTOBER 30

One shared day for HPP awareness.

Each year on October 30, the global HPP community comes together to increase understanding of hypophosphatasia, share the experiences of people affected by HPP, and strengthen connections across countries and communities.

The History of World HPP Day

World HPP Day began as HPP Awareness Day, established by Soft Bones in 2012 and recognized annually on October 30. In 2020, Soft Bones expanded the initiative globally, bringing together HPP organizations and communities around the world under the banner of World Hypophosphatasia Day.

We Are HPP: caregivers, patients, friends, doctors, researchers, and partners. World HPP Day.

World HPP Day | October 30

Hypophosphatasia may be rare, but it reaches beyond any one patient. Surrounding every person living with HPP is a wider community of people working to understand it, support it, and move knowledge forward.

This World HPP Day, we are bringing those people into view.

Patients. Caregivers. Families. Friends. Doctors. Researchers. Advocates. Partners.

This is what HPP looks like.

There is no single face of HPP.

There are all of us.

TAKE PART

Here’s how you can get involved.

Throughout October, we invite the HPP community to help us show the people, relationships, and experiences that make up this community.

  • Share a photograph.
  • Tell part of your story.
  • Share the symptoms or experiences that led to your diagnosis.
  • Recognize someone who has been part of your HPP experience.
  • Share knowledge that helped you understand the disease differently.
  • Give a shout-out to a medical professional who has helped you along the way.
  • Take a moment to recognize a researcher helping move HPP science forward.

For more ways to get involved and raise awareness of HPP, go to https://softbones.org/.

Whether you live with HPP, love someone who does, care for people living with HPP, study the disease, or help strengthen the HPP community, you are part of the story being told.

Tag @HPPUnited and use #WorldHPPDay and #WeAreHPP so we can help amplify it.

On October 30, we come together to make HPP more visible—not only the disease, but the people, relationships, and experiences that surround it.

Every person adds something to the picture.
